What is a USDA Appraisal? It’s an appraisal for Rural Development Housing Loans offered to rural property owners by the US Department of Agriculture.

As of 10/01/2015 the USDA requires whole house inspections on existing dwellings. The USDA – Section 502 Direct Loan Program now requires all loan applicants to obtain and submit a home inspection.

There may be some confusion with buyers on why they would need a home inspection AND a real estate appraisal. For clarity, the appraisal determines the appraised value and the home inspection does an in depth look at the condition of the property and gives opinions of suggested and required repairs.

USDA & FHA loans are similar in certain respects and both require an FHA approved certified residential real property appraiser. At Appraisals For Land & Homes we are FHA approved & can help you with all your USDA & FHA appraisal needs.
